Naka Akira (奈加あきら)

Naka Akira (奈加あきら), born 1959, is a Japanese nawashi in the Naka-ryū.

Japanese nawashi born 1959, one of the most internationally recognized contemporary kinbakushi. At age 30 attended a study class by Nureki Chimuo and became his sole apprentice for over two decades. Became professional kinbakushi after Yokohata Kunihiko invited him to do bondage for a video production. Produced Amadas Studio, an SM production studio in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. From 2011 he organized Nawa Naka Kai, a Tokyo private rope-meeting and study format around Naka-style semenawa; in 2018 he founded the Semenawa Kinbaku Research Group at Atelier Naka. Known for dynamic performance rope and extensive worldwide teaching. Public film credits also place him as bondage guidance on the 2013 R-18 Literary Prize adaptation Self-Bondage: All Tied Up With My Own Rope. Featured in the 2015 documentary 'Jyowa' on Japan's top rope artists. Founder of the Naka-ryū style.
