Brisbane-based rope educator, performer and artist working with Laced as Nawa Musubi; Hajime Kinoko's official Ichinawakai roster lists the same Brisbane / Nawa Musubi instructor as Jake Carl. Nawa Musubi's own site describes Jake and Laced as teaching Hajime Kinoko's Ichinawa-kai curriculum in Brisbane and offering workshops locally, interstate and overseas. Shibari Study's 2024 episode says Jake was officially certified by Hajime Kinoko as an instructor of his style in April 2018, and frames his teaching around model-aware communication, clean Kinoko-style line, adaptation and understanding why a tie works rather than only reproducing a form. Studio Kink records separate Kazami-Ryu study in Queensland and Jake's first-in-Oceania Level 4 Kazami-Ryu graduation; The current record treats that he studied Kazami-Ryu under Miss Gen and graduated through that curriculum, while framing it as an earlier stage before his current Ichinawakai affiliation with Kinoko as sensei.
