Uruguay shibari community founded in 2017 to promote shibari. Dercein's Latin American shibari resource describes @shibariuruguay as a non-profit organization that teaches classes, organizes workshops and open jams, and keeps studying with international teachers to disseminate rope practice in the region. A 2025 Dercein write-up credits Shibari Uruguay with coordinating and hosting the first-days-of-March Kirigami and Marta Tenshiko intensive workshop in Uruguay. Shibari Uruguay's direct public-safe correction identifies Paul Samael and Pol Ropes as founders, Pol Ropes and Mery Kate as current members, and Paul Samael and Rembrandt as former members; additional uncorroborated leads from the correction are kept out of the public profile until a stable public source appears.
