Tension MTL
Tension MTL, 2017–, is a Canadian studio in the bakushi / kinbaku ecosystem.
Era: 2010s
Montreal shibari / kinbaku education studio and community space founded in late 2017. Independent reporting documents its March 2019 move to a larger St Catherine Street venue. The official site presents a structured curriculum, private teaching, workshops and open practice in a physical studio with a main hall, multiple suspension points, private and therapy rooms, dojo space and lounges. Rope Social and Soiree Shibari provide recurring community and performance formats, while official team and accountability pages identify William Desjardins / Willcat, Masha Smushkevitch / Katmiss and Christophe Bolduc / Chris / Cwiss as the public ownership and core team.
