schwelle7
schwelle7, 2007-2016, is a German studio in the bakushi / kinbaku ecosystem.
Era: 2000s
Berlin/Wedding experimental performance, BDSM, body-practice and shibari venue opened by Felix Ruckert with Dasniya Sommer at Uferstrasse 6 at the end of March 2007. Surviving official programmes document Dasniya's weekly Bondage Jam and beginner shibari course, Midori's Hands-on Rope Bondage workshop in November 2007 and Matthias T. J. Grimme's three-day Japanese Bondage workshop in March 2008. Ruckert's biography frames schwelle7 as an international shibari hub whose programming helped popularize Japanese rope bondage in Berlin and across Europe. The venue closed in 2016 after nine years and remains a key context for the Berlin rope research scene that produced EURIX.
