KINBAKU ARTIST · TEACHER

Bay Area kinbaku artist, performer, teacher and organizer working publicly as Kanso / Kanso Kinbaku. The Rope Circle instructor page describes him as a Bay Area-based kinbaku artist, performer and sex-positive educator who encountered Japanese rope bondage during a 2006 performance in Japan and started The Rope Circle in 2017 to make shibari education more accessible. SF Station's 2019 Rope Circle class listing says he co-created Bondage Erotique in 2010, started Kiss of Rope in 2017, taught rope intensives around the United States, performed in art / festival contexts and served as a regular SF Armory / Kink.com rope instructor for four years, teaching a year-long curriculum through suspension. Kinbaku Today's 2014 interview preserves his Bondage Erotique public identity, Blue collaboration context and interest in late-Showa / Nureki / Naka-inspired kinbaku.
