RIGGER · TEACHER
Dutch rope top, switch, teacher, performer and event organizer from Amsterdam. Asiana says she discovered shibari in 1996 through kikkou.com, began tying in 2005, was self-taught before taking lessons, initially tied more as a switch, and now mostly ties. Founder and principal teacher of RopeLounge Amsterdam, where she has run regular shibari classes and events since 2013; Prague Shibari Festival described her in 2019 as a well-known Dutch rigger who had been running RopeLounge for almost six years, and 2026 Hipsy course listings still place her as the RopeLounge teacher in Amsterdam. Her current atlas context lists EURIX attendance / presenter / performer / beginners-course / masterclass roles across multiple editions, Ellipsis Rope Events performances in March and September 2016, Prague Shibari Festival 2019 presenter / performer, RopeLinked 2019 and 2024 presenter traces, and Onawa Asobi Antwerp 2020 performance context. In Amsterdam she hosted Otonawa & Tsubasa, Ren Yagami and Kasumi Hourai workshops / performances, and reports private lessons or classes with Arisue Go, Otonawa & Tsubasa, Akechi Kanna & Akechi Kagura, Naka Akira, Murasaki Haruan and Kasumi Hourai; these are listed as influence connections, not formal lineage. Collaborates with Door as the artistic couple Knot So / KnotSo and co-hosts the six-episode Rope Ramblings podcast; Door is described in the RopeLounge context as an occasional co-teacher / model, with Asiana working with a range of models as rope partners.
