Current official Akira Nawa and Escola de Shibari pages present her as a reference educator in Brazil, founder of Escola de Shibari / Espaço Shibari in São Paulo, and a full-time practitioner focused on performances, installations, photography and in-person teaching. An older official biography preserves the earlier Rio de Janeiro trajectory, saying she taught her first workshop in 2016 and opened Estúdio Karada in 2017 as the first shibari studio in Brazil; the current official services page places her private teaching studio in Liberdade, São Paulo.
