Era: 2010s

Costa Rica BDSM community active since 2013 with a durable San José-facing public infrastructure that explicitly includes rope/shibari programming. The official EscenaCR site presents the project as `Comunidad BDSM EscenaCR` with an online magazine, seminars, workshops, talks, munches, a MAsT San José chapter, Festival BDSM San José, Leather ECR and library resources; the same page also preserves direct rope traces including `Taller Shibari progresivo 1 y 2`, `Show Shibari` and the named rope subgroup `Sinistra`.
