Yugen Studio

Yugen Studio, 2020–, is a Italian studio in the bakushi / kinbaku ecosystem.

Kinbaku studio in Milan, Italy, run by Federico Kirigami and Marta Tenshiko through Kiri Nawa Kai APS. Yugen Studio's official site says the studio opened in 2020 after Federico and Marta had worked together since 2011 and run a smaller Milan venue from 2016 to 2020. The current space has a social area, 40-tatami practice area, 16 double hard points and 4 hashira, and hosts classes, shootings, bondage parties and cultural / editorial projects. A 2023 Bologna YSM presentation says Federico and Marta built Yugen Studio with valuable help from Ema Kuroko. Its Rope Tales / School of Rope roots connect it to Kirigami and Tenshiko's independent Milan teaching line, shaped by Naka Akira / Sugiura Norio references and Kirigami's earlier Kinbaku LuXuria certification period, while remaining an independent studio rather than a formal Japanese branch. TicketTailor / Rope Tales pages document a 2023-2026 collaboration line with Japanese kinbaku model Akane through live streaming, photoshoots and a 2026 photography study group.
